GandaAncestry.com is the brainchild of a group of US based Ugandan investors (The Ganda Group) who are committed to providing Internet based solutions to problems that are peculiar to Uganda communities. In 2004 the group contracted New Jersey based Infoma Corporation to build and operate GandaAncestry.com, the first in a family of web sites for people of African origins.
Development of the service was directed by Dr. Charles Mukasa Galiwango, now a Senior Project Manager at a leading healthcare management company in the USA. Infoma's GandaAncestry.com team is led by:
1. Stephen M. Senkomago - Director of Service Operations
2. Ronald K. Kibuye - Director of Systems Development
3. Hanifa Nabuuma - Director of Sales and Marketing
The Ganda Group continues to work closely with the Government of Buganda, the Abataka b'Obusolya (Baganda clan heads), to become the provider of choice of information and services relating to Ganda culture and customs.
How it Works
GandaAncestry.com operates on
a subscription basis. Subscription is open to everyone although only
subscribers with Ganda ancestry may add information to the system.
